I Killed the Player of the Academy - Completed Author's Note
TL note:
This note was published before any of the side stories/webtoon extras.
***
Yes, this is how the story of Corin Locke ended.
I feel new, regretful, and happy at the same time.
I'm also thrilled, in love, grateful, and sorry.
This is my first proper, completed work where I killed an Academy player.
When I was very young, I debuted with poor writing skills and achieved decent results.
However, due to my laziness, I was unable to finish my first work before I enlisted in the military, and after I was discharged, the publisher... no, the market went bankrupt.
The new novel that was supposed to be serialized which consisted of seven volumes was a complete flop and I should've poured all this passion into my first work.
A lot has changed since I came back from the military. No, I should say that there has been a tectonic shift in the world of novels.
As web novels emerged, fellow writers I respected and admired were already writing web novels.
One of the writers who won a contest and held an awards ceremony with us was writing a romance novel, and another writer had just finished writing an web novel.
A younger sister I know who writes BL works is a pretty successful adult BL writer in Blue Window.
Kahahahaha! How can a man get pregnant, you idiot.
A zoo of pretty girls in a harem novel full of nerds.
I don't want to sound like you're misunderstanding me, but I think all genres are valuable things that should be respected.
We need to respect, understand, and care for each other more.
Anyways, when I was a third year university student, I kept putting off studying because I was writing and outsourcing scenarios for game companies.
As a result, I postponed my studies and graduated a lot later.
Now that I think about it, I wish I had graduated a long time ago and started writing.
I had to hurriedly fill up my credits over two years, graduated, and then challenged myself with web novels in early 2021.
It was a lot more popular than I thought.
The first one was a flop because it was an orc story that pursued excessive romanticism, and the second one was a cyberpunk knight story that toned down the romanticism.
Holy Grail Knight 5077. Now it's posted for free under the name "The Knight King of the Fallen World."
It was a work that had a lot of the scent of the worldview that I like, but in the end, I drank the bitter cup and waited for the next time.
This was my third attempt at a web novel where I killed an Academy player.
I studied thoroughly and tried to write something that would sell.
Nevertheless, it is a work filled with many of the things I like.
Knight Run, Fate... They are the reason I started writing, and they are my eternal idols.
Author Kim Sung-min and CEO Nasu Kinoko, whom I still respect.
I tried to capture the scent and style of the two works I have loved the most for 15 years in words.
And luckily, it worked as it got a lot of attention.
However, it was excessive and so there was a process of revision.
Please don't forgive me for being so shameless and lacking.
Just give me another chance.
Reflecting on this, I want to pursue originality in my next work. I want to present 100% original work of my own without referencing any other work.
So for now, I'll leave 'Knight of the Fallen World' as a future work. It's a world that needs to be reworked because it's full of my favorite Warhammer lore.
The next one will come out right away without a break. The ending of this novel is... Friday, May 6th (TL Note: this was published may 2022) . Do I just keep doing it? Anyways, I'll be back on May 11th.
I support Nopakkuman [노빠꾸맨], who is currently running at full speed. You have truly broadened my horizons for web novels.
Of course, you'd like a harem, but honestly, don't you admit that Han Seo-jin is the real wife? It's irresponsible pleasure hehuhung……
Mr. PD Park who's in charge of me. Thank you for discovering my otaku-ness. Your support and encouragement has always been a source of strength.
To my friends who always cheered me on and wished me well by reading despite my poor writing, thank you so much.
I would also like to express my gratitude to HOMY and 2poet, who willingly complied with the client's unreasonable and perverted requests and created lovely and beautiful illustrations.
Also, thank you to the editorial departments of Munpia and distributors for your hard work.
Thanks to your hard work, the novels of authors that readers enjoy are still being published. You are the pillars that support this web novel industry.
Thank you, I appreciate it, and I support you. I hope your future turns out as you wish, you stay healthy, smile often, and be happy.
Lastly, the genre novel gallery that looked favorably on this poor work from readers that drew art with their precious hands.
